This course helped me get comfortable working with command line basics, combined with Git/Github. There were few errors in labs or test but nothing that really detracted from the overall quality.

There are some labs in this course that cannot be completed as written because the referenced repository does not exist and a general lack of context for the purpose of what you're learning, but if you want something that will walk you through some common unix and git command line actions, the videos and readings do that reasonably well.

poorly maintained resources with 404 errors on some of the links in the labs. Come on. I imagine that this was created several years ago. The JavaScript course also has the problem with being outdated. The stuff works, but it's old versions of the JS standards. Needs badly to be updated.

Meta suggests to use the command line in VS Code instead of the desktop version of github with a GUI , why? I noticed the GUI software at the end in the capstone project. Using it is much more convenient. You also don't need to configure any security details or the like.

Good at the beginning, further down there is missing content, rushed lectures and lack of support. If it weren't for chatGPT and Google, I would never have finished. There are support requests on the discussion board that are unanswered for MONTHS.

Would be nice if Meta kept the course up to date. This course is missing it's test repo and GitHub has changed a bit so that it could be difficult to figure out how to do the things prescribed in some of the labs.

This course needs to updated. The link to the class repo is broken. And even after locating it, the class.md which it was supposed to contain was not there. It made completing the labs very difficult.

Bad links to required Meta Repositories made Labs and Assigments impossible.

Incomplete instructions.

Transcripts were poor, bad translations from video to transcript.

It is an important course that teaches useful skills. Unfortunately half of the labs can't be completed because it requires a github repo that does not exist :(

content seems to jump around a little. Would be good to guide beginners a bit more on this. URLs to some labs were not available, 404 erro when clicked on it

The links in the last 2 Version Control assignments for "class repo" were broken. This is completely unacceptable for a paid course. Be better Coursera.

This course was Dry. I didn't see the purpose of using dash or commands they used in the course.

If it wasn't for the kindness of other students sharing multiple workarounds, I would have never made it through this course. Working with Git and the command line and the various other tools in the course was interesting and challenging - that's great. But there is NO EXCUSE for lesson sequence errors and broken links coming from a company like META. Best Practice: Spend time in the discussion area for whatever Module you are going to work on BEFORE you even start. LOTS of great stuff in there. Good luck... ~BB~

I have done two other programs so far and they both were great (intro to html css, and programming with javascript), but this program was not up to their standard. This program has very low audio on the videos and it is hard to understand the lecturer. None of the other programs were like this, and the links to access the correct repo's for the labs in this section are all broken and return 404 errors so you cannot actually get practice. please fix this meta

This course is a crap. Should be deleted and make another one. Lost of time with Unix Commands. Few practice labs. This course is very fundamental and should be practice, with several examples using git log, git blam, git push, git pull, restore older file version, pull resquest, etc, with working repositories (class repo doesnt exist). I'm very dessapointed with this material provided by Meta.

Overall class covers material and can mostly follow along until the lab at the end. A link to the class repo on GitHub is provided but the link is broken (404 not found). Discussion forum confirms this has been an open issue for over a year. No one is monitoring or supporting this class anymore. Frustrating to go through 3 weeks just to hit a wall at the end.

The grade is 1 star because there are broken links within the course, which make it impossible to solve some exercises. Because it is paid training offered by a large company, it demonstrates a great lack of respect for the customer.

It's chaotic, the repo links are broken, and generally - a waste of time. I'd be better off reading raw documentation than wasting my time on this. If it weren't for the end certificate, I would've ditched that a long time ago.

Full of error, this is so terrible. The provided linkage directs to 404 error in GitHub. Some command are not recognized in the Lab terminal. This make it impossible to complete exercise in the Lab.

Given you have to pay to obtain a certificate, it's a shame that content of the course is not maintained, e.g. missing github repositories required for practices and assignments.

Outdated. Nobody use git CLI now, when VScode have GitLens, GitGraph and other plugins. Broken links. Not working support. Do not waste your time.

Assessments include answers which are just flat out wrong (or incomplete). I think this course should be optional.
