I enjoy this course and highly recommend it to students with now prior experience in the IT area. I also recommend this course to students who are returning to the IT area and need a freshener course.

If you already have a strong I.T. or programming background, Tech Support Fundamentals will still take you approximately 6 hours while setting the playback speed to 1.5x or 2x most of the time. It's unwise to outright skip any video with embedded questions (denoted by a yellow mark on the video timeline). Don't expect the other 4 courses in the 5 course series to be this easy, they will undoubtedly become progressively harder as more complex topics are discussed.

This was an excellent introduction to the IT field. I thought I knew a few things about it before I started which made it intriguing but this course showed me there is still so much to learn. That being said, Coursera makes it super easy to follow and understand. The break it down into logical and simple terms but keep it interesting and motivating. They test your knowledge and challenge your critical thinking along the way, which huge in building confidence!

This course felt like more of an encouragement course. You learned the very basics of IT. Things I believe that most people already know. There were a lot of things, however, that were completely new. But the thing I took away from it most was the encouraging messages and the different backgrounds that everyone that taught the course had. The overall message in this course is "You can do it" and having that keeps you motivated and excited to move forward.

The course was fantastic. I worked with my schedule great, and I am looking forward to taking many more courses to add to my resume. I was able to actually complete the course well ahead of schedule because the instructors were great and the exams completely lined up with the training I received. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking to getting started in 'IT'. Great job Google. You really understand what is needed to be successful in 'IT'.

This is basically why I don't like star-based review systems — it's entirely arbitrary and each person will have their own opinions as to whether 3 out of 5 would be good or bad or in between.
In baseball, going 3 for 5 at the plate is an excellent night. At school, getting 3 out of 5 on a quiz is a D-.
Anyway, I would typically see 3 out of 5 in the context of a movie review as average. For something like a smartphone review, that would probably be pretty "meh".

The "Technical Support Fundamentals" course offers a solid introduction to IT support, covering essential concepts like hardware, software, and troubleshooting. It provides practical skills through hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios. Key takeaways include systematic problem-solving techniques and the importance of consistency in learning. Overall, it’s an excellent foundation for anyone starting in IT support, building technical skills and confidence.

I enjoyed taking this course, the instructor videos were informative and the instructors themselves knew their material and taught it well. I liked the flexibility of the schedule and the interactive lessons and labs. If I had to say anything negative about the course it would be the spelling and grammar of the transcription of the videos, those were not proof read well. I definitely enjoyed learning this way and will take more courses like this in the future.

It was a great course most of the lesson were very straight forward which made it a great and swift learning experince. Although I wish we would've had more lessons for Binary and the commands prompts used for operating systems. Those were extremely difficult for me to learn and took a lot of outside research to understand exactly how these work and how to properly use them. Despite that I really enjoyed this course and will be continuing to the next segment.

This is a really solid introduction to computing and IT. It took the first several weeks of college to cover the same subject matter, but I was in lectures or labs 35 hours a week and had to commute. This course covered the same material in a much more convenient and cost effective way. I even learned some things which never came up in college. Overall I would suggest anybody trying to learn a bit more about the basics of computing should take this course.

this course is best course ever, which I've seen till now, I'm a visually impaired person, but for me, this course was 99.9% accessible. I was not feeling that I’m a visually impaired person and attending this course. the in virement was like this course was only designed for visually impaired people, especially. I want to thank google 1st, then tribute to coursera, and special thanks to our university, who provided us this opportunity to dive in this world.

I would rate the course quite well. Very valuable knowledge offered In this course. I do have a little concern about some of the editing In the videos that were made to correct what the individuals in some of the videos. As well as some faulty questions (the wording) being asked In the networking part of the course. however I do believe the other courses are probably error free. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to refresh myself In the field of IT! :)

I just finished the Technical Support Fundamentals course and I can say that it was an amazing journey. From computer history to troubleshooting I learned new things, consolidate the things I've already know, and I really enjoyed the part that I've learned hardware, Put it all together also the scenarios of troubleshooting. I really enjoyed learning and it's all a big thing itself, I can't wait for the second course: The Bits And Bytes of Computer Networking

I very much enjoyed learning the different content in Technical Support Fundamentals. I am taking this program in order to start yet another career at the age of 65. I can actually now see myself working in this field after completing course 1. I really have no prior experience in this field other than my own personal interactions with computers. I sincerly hope that upon completion of the program, my age will not keep me from getting a job in this field.

Fantastic explanations and access to easy-to-use labs for practical practice. I really like the "take notes" function as it just takes a screenshot of the video and lets me add my own notes to it, it's like super easy annotation. It gives a nice solid easy, however shallow, understanding of what goes on inside any computer. It's not really information i could regurgitate or teach to someone else yet but this course makes me feel like i could someday soon!

The course content was extremely interesting. I especially liked hearing about others' personal experiences working in the IT field. The only discouraging part for me was the Windows labs that I had technical issues completing. I found the Linux labs infinitely more user-friendly and easier to complete. Overall I have learned a tremendous amount of things in this first section and I am looking forward to completing the course over the next few months.

This was a fantastic introduction to IT. Each component of the course felt like it covered the right amount of information in an efficient manner. I had developed enough understanding by the end of each topic that I felt confident and ready to tackle the next topic. Especially with the variation between presenters and topics, I felt this course had a great flow and is easy to recommend. Most importantly, I felt excited to continue learning IT by the end!

The course was really engaging and gamified. I was able to learn things with ease. The content was well structured and on to the point. The mentors being employees of Google and learning from their experience is something that benifits all. The QwikLabs guided labs were really helpful in spinning up Virtual machines to practice on.
I will definetely recommend this course to everyone. My huge respect for Coursera and Google for brining up the initiative.

I wasn't sure this course was right for me initially but I decided to take it anyway. After learning all these interesting things about the way computers work and listening to the personal experiences of the instructors, I feel confident about pursuing a career in IT. This course has broadened my knowledge in so many different ways. I was always so eager to see what the next lesson unfolds so I completed it in a week.
Thank you Google, Thank you Coursera

I really enjoyed this course. Firstly the lay out and the structure of the course was excellent having the videos and the supplement reading in the same place was genius . It was good to have several presenters delivering the information, made you like you were in class meeting different people. Moreover it was good to have short videos rather and long ones, and finally I really enjoyed the video on building a computer. Thanks for this opportunity.
