Very enjoyable forums, videos, and interaction as a whole. I have taken similar classes in the past but the way that this course works makes it so much easier for me to be interested and stay focused.

The first course in the "Google Certified IT Support Professional" gives a great overview of all related topics, introducing the following more technical and way more in depth courses. The first course focuses more on the important "soft skills" side of empathically talking to users who have a technical problem. Troubleshooting is also covered in good detail with many examples.

Generally I liked very much, that the program feels quite interactive with videos, reading material, quizzes and graded assignments.

I am of the firm belief that, although maybe the Coursera certificate might not have that much "industry recognition" -weight, it is much more about the actual applicable "hands-on" skills, that you can acquire!

I am excited about the upcoming courses! :-)

This course has been incredibly helpful from a knowledge perspective. I’ve gained in-depth understanding of basic IT concepts, including effective problem-solving techniques and identifying the root cause of issues. One of the most interesting aspects was learning how to systematically approach and troubleshoot various IT problems. There were moments when I struggled with grasping the more detailed aspects of documentation and troubleshooting methods. However, these challenges ultimately contributed to a deeper understanding and improved my problem-solving skills. I’m definitely looking forward to taking the next course in the IT Support Professional Certificate. I’m excited to build on what I’ve learned and continue developing my skills in IT support.

I'm so happy that I started this journey. It's exciting and feeding a passion to learn more about technology. The presenters have been amazing and inspiring. Every aspect of this course has been targeted and strategically built to help everyone succeed. I found myself reviewing notes when needed and paying attention to items called out in the videos as key. The supplemental reading was interesting and I often found myself learning a lot about how the history of technology has impacted today and the processes that are still used (and often expanded upon). I'm looking forward to more! It feels like the rush of an amazing quest game, only leveling-up is hitting those 100% graded assignments and the benefits are personal growth; a win-win!

The Problem at hand is the need and want for consumption; specifically that of food. Today (2/13/2022 @ 11:34 PM Central) we tackle this issue using the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich solution. For this we will need the following: Peanut Butter Jar, Jelly Jar, Two Slices of Bread, and a butter knife. First, we must put the two slices of bread next to each other. Secondly, Open both the Peanut Butter and Jelly Jars. Furthermore, apply Jelly on one bread and Peanut Butter on the other bread using The Butter Knife. Finally, The End Result: a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich. After Finishing you may eat the bread or gift it to someone else for them to enjoy just remember to not take too long to do this as the sandwich may suffer decay with time.

I loved this course! I learned so many things through this course and am super excited to keep learning. Everything was easy to understand and spoke to all my areas of learning. I loved the option to read while watching the videos as well as the supplemental reading afterwards that was provided. I especially loved the visuals that were created to help understand what is going on in the hardware. I am a hands on learner so being able to see what is happening really helped me. Through out this course I have been just mind blown that something like this exists. I have been telling everyone about it and hope more people look into coursera. Thank you so much for creating this incredible way to teach, inspire, and motivate us to keep learning!

Given that I came from no background in IT or computers for that matter, I found this course to be very informative and helpful. The format in which this material is delivered suited my learning style very well. I did not have high hopes when I first started this course, but have since become very excited to continue with new ones. If you are like me then this course will be a great start to your learning journey. They did not start so deep in the weeds that I was lost from the first step like a few others out there that I tried. They had in my opinion just the right way of starting you out slowly before introducing more complex topic matter. I have zero regrets with this course and if you are reading this I hope you won't either.

I really enjoyed going through this first course out of the Google IT Support Professional Certificate. There was a lot of things that I had already knew about just from my personal life and growing up. But there was also some great knowledge that I learned from this introductory course. Overall, the course did have some bugs here and there, however, the course was a great introduction into the field of IT. I cannot wait to continue with this certificate program and continue to learn more and eventually at the end of this certificate program land a new job in the IT world to show my passion and change my career.

Thank you Google & the professors that put this program for people like me to use in order to get into the IT field.

This is my first certificate on a long journey to a successful career transition from a professional past of blue collar labor jobs, to a rewarding future crawling down all of the rabbit holes the technology industry has to offer and will create for the future. That said, I found this course to be very informative on a lot of the basic concepts behind IT as well as what your average day may look like just starting out in the industry. Informative and topped with this course being structured in a way that allows for easy digestion of the information through small, bite size chunks of interactive videos. I give this course 5 stars. I am very excited to continue my way through the Google IT Support Professional Certificate!

I think this was a great course to start with for this particular certificate. It places the ground work for IT support. This course explains why IT Support is so important to businesses and why there is a need to have people in these kind of support positions. Most end users are intimidated when it comes to computers and tend to shy away from using them unless they really have to. Being able to simplify or fix something for an end user and explain it in terms they understand build a rapport and trust with the end user. By taking this course, it provides the basic knowledge to help end users. I can now zero in on the root cause and fix problems so that they do not happen again in opposed to putting a bandaid on an issue.

I really thank Google first for these kinds of teachings because they help us improve or learn some things that many times as people who work in IT dates by known. Course because it is the means of access to these certificates and because he learned a lot about the documentary and putting ourselves in the client's shoes many times and no request is less important, simple as it may seem. Thanks for the interview tips and the Resumes, job interviews. I thank each instructor for being original and showing their weaknesses and strengths as well as their obstacles that had to become IT professionals. I am leaving with a good taste with this course and of course, I will take many more to come if life, God and time allow it

This course is a great starting point for anyone interested or questioning whether they should enter the IT field. Each week explores a different part of how computers work and the information, while keeping things basic enough, goes in depth to help you decide where your strengths and weaknesses are. While I liked learning about networking, I found myself drawn more to software and then even more to the hardware. I think the most fun I'd have would be messing around with the body of the computer to find any issues or upgrade and old equipment. I feel like this course should be a normal part of the curriculum in the school system as society moves forward in a world with technology that is expanding in everyday life.

I found the course to offer a very realistic view of positive technical support society. It was interesting to watch the videos each week and to get different perspectives. I just finished getting my certificate for the same. I liked the lectures, assignments and quizzes ratio and how we can open our eyes to see changing technical perspective all around us. This course provides a road map that creates new possibilities that is relevant on the individual level and on the organization level. This road map guides the discovery of our dreams, hopes and strengths. It guides us towards creating a shared purpose and vision. It guides us towards creating an aspiration statement and take action to fulfill the statement.

good introduction course, good pacing, and i actually liked the human element of it- helped keep me motivated to hear from people who have/had similar stories to mine so far. i initially started this course because i saw it advertised by coursera/google as "covering 85% of content on the comptia a+ exam" as well as offering the google certificate. while it may have touched very briefly on that much of what is on the comptia exam, it didn't really cover it much, although the optional supplemental readings did a little bit more.

oh, there IS more to this than the fundamentals. ha. oops. this was a great introduction to fundamentals then, so i changed to 5 stars and plan on getting the full certificate

The Technical Support Fundamentals Google course was phenomenal and really re-ignited my passion for why I love IT. I literally can't wait to finish the program so I can earn my Google IT Support Professional Certificate so I can land my first ever IT/technology job. I graduated back in Dec 2006 and this course has literally changed my life and I can't thank your team enough for designing this course for those of us who need a refresher course and also a way to earn valid credentials to get into the IT/technology industry and who lack the IT experience. I am fired up and can't wait for what the future holds! Thank you so much for inspiring everyone and building an incredible course! :)

This course covered the basics and articulated the information in a way that made complex concepts very easy to understand. All of the instructors in this portion of the course did an amazing job explaining things, and I appreciated that there were many different teachers as that kept the course very engaging. I found the most interesting parts to be the history of how the internet came to be, how computers send and receive information, and most of all, I thoroughly enjoyed getting some hands-on experience using Windows PowerShell and the Linux command terminal. I give this course 5 out of 5 stars and I can't wait to start the next portion of the Google IT Support Professional Certificate.

I took Technical Support Fundamentals.

It was a great introduction to the four courses that are subsequent to this in the Google IT Support Professional Certificate course. It explained at a high level what computer networking is in the world of IT, what operating systems will be covered, infrastructure for a company and an introduction to cyber security concepts. It explains why these are important for an IT specialist to know.

If you are new to IT, this is just the right level to ease you into IT. If you are from an IT or software background, you will probably find the content is very familiar and can speed watch the videos or move straight onto the next course in the specialization.

This is a comprehensive course that doesn't assume anything, and as such is learning-accessible to the entire spectrum of potential students. If a person already has knowledge of some of the material presented, this highly organized course will fill in the gaps in a logical and engaging manner. If one were a true beginner (as am I), this course encourages the student through the curriculum, building on knowledge and tasks as it progresses and helping to dispel any lurking insecurity about learning IT Support with each step forward.

It is a task-based model which considers mastery of the subject the desired outcome, rather than an old-school grading system.

I highly recommend this course.

In my case, this course offered a refresher for my personal knowledgebase. The course was very well-laid-out and provided a good source of information on the Technical Resume and Interview. Thank you for that! Overall, I enjoyed the entire course; especially the Networking and Software modules. Qwiklabs offered a great opportunity for me to begin learning and exploring OS environments that I'm not completely familiar with. Finally, as a former Customer Service Manager, I thoroughly appreciate the tips and guidelines included in this course. I am definitely looking forward to taking the next course in the IT Support Professional Certificate. As a matter of fact, I'm starting right now!

This is a pretty good introductary class! The videos are pretty thorough and if you don't understand something, you can sure hit that pause button and google something up. I do wish this class didn't link to so many wikis with the disclaimer: "...as an IT specialist, you have to do stuff on your own..." or something to that effect. It's a teaching strategy I don't agree with. (I do agree with doing that kind of thing on the job!) There aren't that many wiki links and most of the information provided there is not something to hyper-focus on so don't stress out when you're linked to a massive wiki. If you're curious about IT, this class will give you a confidence boost. Anyone can IT!

This program gave me a better understanding of how IT works from building a computer from scratch to understanding how the internet and the world web allows us to enjoy the benefits of technology. I have always been the closet to being an IT tech where I work and have always found myself to having an aptitude for this material. It was just time for me to take the next leap as a Gen Xer. I guess old dogs can really learn new tricks and use that knowledge to benefit others around me as well as myself. If you just want to see if you can do this then I strongly encourage you do so - no matter where you find yourself on your life path. Just fucking do it - you'll thank yourself later.

I really enjoyed the different learning styles that were used through out the course. It was very hands on but at the same time I was able to do the course at my own pace. I did notice a couple bugs and errors with typo's and compatibility issues but i image as the course grows they will be worked out. Nothing sever. I would change the personal bio videos as being a requirement of the course. Although I do find them beneficial, I might suggest creating instructor profiles then put an option on the home page to go to their profile and learn about them. This could even come as a "Suggest Reading" . I was very engaged through out the course and am looking forward to the next one.
