This is the first of seven courses in the Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Certificate, which will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level roles in these fields. People who work in digital marketing and e-commerce help their organizations attract new customers, engage customers through various digital channels, and drive transactions like purchases and customer loyalty. In this course, you’ll explore entry-level jobs in digital marketing and e-commerce and identify the roles and functions that those jobs play within an organization. Reflecting on the e-commerce and digital marketing program so far, I realize I haven't encountered much new information, with the notable exception of terminology. Becoming more comfortable with industry-specific terms has been valuable and will undoubtedly aid in more effective communication within this field. Although the concepts themselves weren't entirely new to me, the program served as a comprehensive review of essential marketing principles. This review was highly beneficial, as it reinforced and strengthened my existing knowledge base. One aspect that stood out was the emphasis on integrating various digital marketing strategies to create a cohesive plan. Conceptualizing these strategies within a structured framework has been particularly interesting. I hope to delve deeper into advanced data analytics as the program progresses, as understanding consumer behavior through data is crucial for effective digital marketing. The most unexpected thing I learned was the sheer variety of tools available for automating and optimizing campaigns. This discovery has sparked my interest in exploring how these tools can be best leveraged to enhance efficiency and results. Overall, the program has been a valuable reinforcement of my marketing skills, and I look forward to expanding my expertise further.

The course covers essential concepts such as e-commerce platforms, marketing channels, data analytics, customer journey, and digital marketing strategies. These topics provide a solid foundation for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the world of e-commerce and digital marketing.

One of the most interesting concepts in the course was data storytelling, which emphasizes the importance of presenting data insights in a meaningful way using visualizations and narratives. I also found the attribution models and their role in identifying touchpoints that lead to customer conversions fascinating.

I hope to learn more about the technical aspects of e-commerce platforms and digital marketing tools and techniques in the future. It would be interesting to learn about the latest trends in e-commerce, such as using AI and machine learning in marketing and customer engagement.

Overall, the course provides a solid foundation for understanding e-commerce and digital marketing concepts and practices. It covers a broad range of topics and introduces learners to essential tools and techniques for data analytics, marketing, and customer engagement.

Exceptionally useful content, covering a broad range of information about digital marketing to introduce newcomers to these interesting aspects of digital marketing roles. I enjoyed the structure, pacing and design of the course. My one piece of constructive criticism would be to vary the lecturers throughout. Rather than one lecturer dominating the course, maybe two or three familiar faces could be woven throughout. This would provide variety of voice and personality which would help attention. Perhaps the lecturer could also be 'in conversation' with colleagues like a video podcast, to add more variety for different learning styles. Lastly, I would really have appreciated audio recordings of the readings alongside the text, to make it more accessible for my health conditions.

The course 1: Foundation of Digital Marketing and E-commerce is so lucidly explained and so easy to follow and so exciting about the prospects of digital marketing and e-commerce that I completed a 4-week program in one week as I couldn't subordinate the learning to anything else. I was so anxious to learn and know. For the first time ever, I understood the core difference between digital marketing and e-commerce and their interrelatedness. Joi was just too empathetic and I felt I could relate with her so easily on a one-on-one basis. Who knows, perhaps, one day I might meet her to thank her for kindling in me the belief that I could ace the mastery of digital marketing and e-commerce. To all of you guys who are Coursera, I say a mighty thank you. Aha, this is "Earned Media!"

I took this class concurrently with the Meta Social Media Marketing & thought they complemented each other really well. I look forward to doing the rest of both specialization programs when I am able. My only complaint is the number of student submissions that were obviously made with AI was annoying. I would give a peer a good grade, then see the next person's submission and it was almost exactly the same, making it obvious that both people had just used AI to do the work. It's repetitive and icky. It would be ideal if Coursera could find a way to curb that somehow. Otherwise, I enjoyed it and learned what I was hoping to gain.

Awesome overview of digital marketing. Really helpful even for someone like myself who has some experience in the field and has heard most the terms before. It helped organize all those points and terms into a comprehensive philosophy. Also very compact and time-efficient, no extra unnecessary info except for one section I found value-less. Hopefully, in the next few courses we build on top of this in more detail and practice. Had it not been for the inclusivity propaganda stuff I would have rated this course 5 out 5.

This course was very informative and insightful for anyone seeking to learn the basics of Digital Marketing and E-Commerce. However, I do feel the information was a bit too basic for me personally, but I appreciated the smooth flow of information as it was taught in an easy to understand manner, as well as check on learning checkpoints throughout the course. I'm looking forward to the next modules for more indepth insights on SEO, SEM, and Digital Analytics.

I love the information is engaging and isnt boring. I also really enjoyed reading everyones points of view on the course thus far. They also are very encouraging in the videos constantly telling us we are doing awesome! Ive learned so really good insight on SEO and SEM as well as SERP's. Have heard about them plenty of times just didn't know how much into detail it goes. Digital Marketing is a lot more complex than I imagined but very insight full!

I learn a lot of things on this course. The content was informative and I liked the definitions and glossary PDFS. What I didn't like was how the questions crossed over to the point there wasnt a clear answer/could have been multiple. Overall, definitely worth doing and adding the certificate to your LinkedIn page, using the information in your current/new role but make sure you take notes because the terminology all sounds the same by the end!

This course is a good foundation for those who are new to Digital Marketing. Every concepts you need to know is there. But like its title, this course is too general. I hope that they could be more specific with the concept they are giving. Long story short, you should take this course if you want to understand what digital marketing is about! But in order to execute a marketing campaign, you might need to take another courses!

I have loved how it is structured, how it is explained and how it is evaluated. It is noted that there is a pedagogical planning behind. They make continuous reviews of what they have learned to attend to the memory curve, they give many examples. The only ones that are not clear are those of data narrative that have seemed confusing to me. And it would take a little more practice instead of exam questions after each lesson.

esta muy bien muy completo la verdad me encanto el curso viene de manera muy profecional y requiere mucho empeño y dedicacion si pero nada es imposible poniendo esfuerzo y estudiando me encantaria que estubiera la traduccion en español ya que no tengo un nivel muy alto de ingles lo cual me dificulto un poco las catividades pero nada es inposible y logre acreditar el primer curso haci que se que todo se puede lograr

The course is really comprehensive and detailed starter! But I think if you take this course alone (not altogether with the next courses in the google certificate program) it will lack the materials of digital marketing and e-commerce. Because part of this course also explores the job-search side to pursue a career in this industry, which maybe isn't something that people look for in this course

This course is excellent for beginners. Only things is that for the assignment part sometimes I feel like the questions are too theoretical and we might need to memorize a lot to get the right answer. Otherwise, this course contains some really good topics like data ethics, roles and responsibilities of digital marketers, introduction of the mentors and etc. Its a good comprehensive course.
